Sarongs and pareos
A vital addition to any holiday wardrobe! And the more the better as they are super light and easy to pack, yet oh-so-versatile. La Mandarine's sarongs can be worn as a pareo, a summer scarf, a skirt, a beach dress as well as doubling up as a chic cover for your beach bed. Our sarongs are made from 100% cotton voile which has been hand block printed for us in Jaipur and many are trimmed with pretty hand embellishments such as beaded and tassled corners or pom poms. They generally measure 2m x 1m and are easily washable by machine at cool temperatures. Line dry out of direct sunlight.
The tie front is a simple way to wear a sarong and this can sit just over the hips or above the bust for more coverage. To tie the sarong, simply hold it behind you with the top of the material centered at the small of your back. Grab the ends of the sarong, wrapping the fabric around your waist just below your navel. The tie the two pieces of material into a double knot. The knot can be rotated to either side, leaving it rest on your hip. Simply folding your sarong to the desired length if you prefer a shorter 'skirt', then tie. Sarongs can also be folded as a triangle and tied in the same manner for a different look. For more coverage, a sarong can be worn in several ways as a 'dress'. To tie the dress, hold the sarong behind you with the top of the material just below your shoulders. Take the ends of the sarong, wrap the fabric under your arms, and tie with a double knot just above your breasts. Secure the dress with a high double knot on your left side. You can also make a dress by securing the long ends in a knot behind your neck having first intertwined them over the bust as in the previous example.
